Affordable and Reliable An In-Depth Review of the Coaster 125cc ATV Chinese Quad

Introduction

Good morning everyone. Welcome to Ottawa. I hope you all are having a great day. Another wonderful day here in Arizona. And today, no, we’re not talking about the Pioneer because, well, it’s pretty much perfect. Today, we are going to talk about our Chinese quad, the Coaster 125cc ATV.

The Perception of Chinese Quads

And why am I talking about it today? Well, they get a bad rap. For some reason, you go to the dunes or you go camping, and there are many people who think their name, brand, as well as ATVs, whatever, are better than your cheap piece of Chinese junk. . And to be honest with you, it’s just not true.

Backstory

I’ll give you a little backstory real quick. This is actually my second Chinese quad that I have bought. The first quad was the 50. It’s a bit blue. And it actually lasted eight years before my kids blew it. And they are pretty much Honda clones. And what I mean by eight years, it was eight hard years of swimming my baby valves. Every other child in the camp who wanted to ride it, who had a helmet, was allowed to ride it with their parents’ permission. It was wrapped. It turned around and it went on until the day he died. And I bought it used. So I think it was two years old and I bought it. So a little quad went ten years for just a couple hundred dollars.

Upgrading to a 125

So this last season I went ahead and bought a new upgraded quad, a 125 as my kids get older. Yes, we still have minibikes, but sometimes it’s a little bit better on the trails, on the quads. And you know what I’m so impressed with them because they’ve come a long way. So let’s get on with this thing quickly. Let me show you some features that I really like. And to be honest with you, I wouldn’t hesitate to go after anyone else.

Features of the Coaster 125

So these small quads come with a lot of features that you might not realize. They come with all the features that larger, more expensive quads come with for less than a third of the price. I mean, I picked this thing up for less than a thousand dollars and that was after paying taxes, registration, off-road tags, all that stuff. And it was set up, ready to go. Let’s look at some of the features of this item.

Electric Start

First, it’s electric start, which is great for me. So when the kids hit it they turn it off, I don’t have to start it.

Throttle Limit Screw

Second of all, you have a throttle limit screw, which is great because let’s be honest, sometimes kids get a little rowdy. We can turn it down so they don’t float their valves and they can only go so fast.

Parking Brake

Another great feature is the parking brake. So when I put it on the trailer, I can use the parking brake as I’m getting ready to strap it down and the kids can learn how to use it just as a safety mechanism.

Safety Features

With this electric start this quad also won’t start until the brakes are applied, which is a great feature in my opinion. Many quads have this as well. So as you can see, this quad is a little on the large size. This is the middle frame size they said at 125. We have brake lights because I have the key. Disc brake at rear.

Reverse Gear

One of the next favorite features of this thing is that there is an upside down. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but the kids really enjoy it. They just have to make sure they don’t rev the engine when they are shifting. Let me show you. As you can see, there is a neutral light. You can click next to drive. I don’t think the camera will show D there. Gone neutral. Return to neutral. And then in reverse.

Additional Controls

You also have your standard kill switch for run and stop. And then you got your headlights, lows and highs.

Key Fob

Now one of the last cool features I like on this little quad is my key pop. Little lock, unlock, right there, see? What is it doing? Well, the unlock lets kids ride it. A lock is a kill switch. I don’t know the exact distance at which this thing works. I think the dealership said 100 feet or so. But when your kids aren’t listening to you, you’re trying to get their attention, you can just hit the lock button. No matter how many times you try to start it, it won’t lock. There is a cell node that disables something. I haven’t really considered it, it’s a small feature. It’s also good for when you park it overnight, you can press the lock button, and even if someone pushes it, they won’t be able to start it without unlocking it. So a nifty little feature that comes standard on these things.

Performance and Ride Experience

So for those of you wondering how it works? Well, I can tell you it goes non-stop. My child is leaving. I mean, everybody likes to ride it. Heck, even adults. I’m going to ride it here in a minute to show you how fast it is. Now, another great thing is that the shocks are adjustable when someone my size gets there. Now, they are not adjustable on the back, but only on the front, but just like a standard shock. You can just kind of compress it and bend it to get a little more preload into it. I mean, it’s not a bad little quad if you look at it. You have a front brake. You have applied the rear brake. It has lights, racks. What more could a 10-year-old want? So let’s move on. Let’s take this thing for a quick drive and see how it does. Yes.

Conclusion

Well, there you have it. I hope you liked the Quad review. I know this is a short video, but I just keep hearing people rave about these things, and this is a really nice quad, cheap to get your kids riding without spending a ton of money. method And don’t be afraid of them. I mean, most of them are Honda clones. For those of you wondering how fast it goes, well, I use the same app I use on the Pioneer and Minibikes and if I back off the throttle I get 26. Goes up to miles per hour. So I’ll go ahead and put it back. That’s not bad for someone my size doing 26 mph on this thing. So, hope you enjoyed the video.
