Introduction

In this article, we’re going to do a full review of the new Joules Air Plus, a stroller that, after testing several travel strollers, I wasn’t so sure I’d like, but I did after months of using it. I will say, comparing it to many other strollers, the Joules Air Plus is definitely a compact travel stroller that you should consider. I’m Emily if you’re new here. I’m a traveling mom. I am a mother of two children. Almost three, and I review strollers, car seats, baby gear for moms and families. And I’m so excited to jump into Jules Air.

Key Differences Between Joules Air and Joules Air Plus

So one question you may have about the Joules Air Plus is what makes the Joules Air different? Because you see it’s on discount like $379 in a lot of places, which is really good. Basically, what Jules did was come in and make a bunch of small upgrades. So they upgraded the material, they increased the size of the canopy, they increased the size of the basket, a better recline. So those were minor changes, but they also got rid of the raincoat. They both come with dust bags, one black and one red, new black, but that’s it. So if things like a little better tack, a little better extension on the canopy aren’t a big deal to you, you can go with the Joules Air as long as they’re selling them. But the Joules Air Plus definitely has some nice upgrades, including the buckles.

Key Differences Between Joules Air and Joules Air Plus

Quality and Features

So this is just something to note, but starting from the top, I was very impressed with the quality of this stroller. Looking at it online, and this is where experiencing a stroller really makes a difference, I might have said that the Joules Air was not in one of my top travel compact strollers. And that was because everything is modular. It’s more money if you want to buy a cup holder. If you want to buy a bumper bar, a foot rest and a rain cover, everything else costs extra. But the quality and some of the features of this Joules Air Stroller make it a really great compact travel stroller. I am very happy with the push, handlebars. The umbrella is really nice.

Canopy and Seat Design

It doesn’t hurt my hands. I love how wide the canopy is, which is very unique for this stroller. My one beef with the umbrella is that it doesn’t have a peephole. Some people call this extension a peek-a-boo window, but you honestly can’t see your baby in a sitting position with this little mesh panel. So really it’s the airflow, which is good. But unless your baby is propped up, you can’t see them through this mesh panel. But it’s really good coverage, especially if you have a baby who sleeps. The umbrella is really nice. Then you zip it back up. It’s really great. I love how tall the seat is. What some parents ask me about is the upright position of the seat.

Seat Recline and Comfort

This is because many older toddlers, older children like to sit up straight. And many of these strollers and competitors like yo-yos have these terrible relines. And so this stroller, while not the best, isn’t terrible. You can see from the fold here that it has a slight bend, but I’ll say I’m pretty happy with it. It doesn’t have a wide seat, but that’s not a problem. And if that’s a concern, they sell a really nice bumper bar that folds with your Jules Air stroller that will solve some of those issues with seat depth and cushioning. The boxes are great. They like to stick out of here.

Seat Recline and Comfort

Buckles and Foot Rest

They have really good high quality content. They go in very easily. I find that I don’t have to play with them as much, which I really like. And to undo them, you just press this one button and they come out very easily. It doesn’t come with a foot rest for toddlers, but it does have a foot rest for older kids. And my almost two-year-old is finally starting to be able to get there, but she doesn’t need one at this point. I think the main advantage of leg rests that you can buy separately is when they are small. But this is something that has been really good. I love that they have car seat adapters that can fold with the stroller. This is what is so unique about Jules Air.

Car Seat Adapters and Bassinet

Most of the time you have to remove the car seat adapter completely. And it’s great if you’re using a car seat to get in and out of your trunk. Suburban lifestyle if you’re living out of a car. Another thing I will say I really like about this stroller is the bassinet. They sell or carry cots, which are great for babies. You can use it from birth. You have to take the seat off, but it’s very straightforward, but it’s something that’s unique. You only see that in the Yoyo and the Joules. So check it out if you’re on the fence between the two, but this is something I really like.

Detailed Seat Recline

Well, in the set take. So like I said, it has a very nice high seat back. My toddler can sleep in this stroller, as can my three-year-old if he wants to, and he’s tall. He’s like the 98th percentile, so the back seat is so good. Definitely something to consider if you’re going to use a stroller for naps on the go. As for the recline, I’d say it’s not my favorite. You have to unzip it, which is fine to get it to recline. And then there’s this little strap at one end that you can do for different seats. It has a nice mesh panel here that I really like for extra airflow. In the United States and Australia, they do not have a full flat pillow.

Basket Storage

This is against some kind of safety laws, but in many other places like Europe it is almost completely flat-tacked. In the US, the only compact travel stroller I’ve seen that has a full flat recline is the Ergo Metro Plus, which you can see picture on. But I think for most, it will be enough. And then, if you have an infant, you can use a car seat adapter or carrycot option. In terms of backing it up, you just kind of pull here and then you have to tuck. I don’t like how the material type is stuck on the front of the seat. So let me show you. You can see it’s kind of stuck here and you can pull it back.

Additional Features and Quality

But it’s something that isn’t, as does Bugaboo. The only part that I like about this stroller is the basket storage. So it has an increased basket size that can hold up to 11 pounds, which is really nice. I found it to be a great size, and then it also has this really nice pocket that you can put your phone or wallet in. This is not seen in many of its competitors, and I really like it. Interval is easy to use and definitely flip-flop friendly. I have found that the push on this stroller is really good. Is it going to work wonders on the cobbler? No, the real compact would be a travel stroller, but it is well built.

Additional Features and Quality

Durability and Fold Mechanism

It is good quality. It has been stopped. It hasn’t suffered too many scratches and dings, maybe one, but I’ve used this stroller. I’ve really tried it over the last several months. And I am very happy with it. Another feature I love about this stroller is the fold. So you’re going to press two buttons in the handle here and it’s a true one-handed fold. It has a really nice stretchy carrying strap which is very comfortable and easy to use I’m great for travel. I like that the wheels are facing the way for me and they don’t mess up my clothes, which is something I’ve had issues with other travel compact strollers I’ve tried. And then it’s compatible with almost all overhead bins, which is amazing.

Conclusion

Having a stroller that has so many great features that I really like and that fits in an overhead bin is really nice. Now, if you’ve seen my other articles, there are downsides to being overhead while traveling, especially by yourself. But for many parents, this is a really nice feature that they want to have and you can definitely do that with this stroller. In terms of opening it, it’s really easy. You’re just going to push those two buttons and then just pull up and it’ll open like this. it’s very easy.

One last thing I’ll say on Jules. All of their strollers come with a 10-year transferable warranty. It’s something that’s not… I’ve never seen it before. So basically what this means is that I use a joolz aer stroller for five years and then I pass it on to my sister or a friend and the warranty follows the owner. Usually the warranty is only with the original purchaser. So that’s something that’s amazing. They really stand behind their products and their quality. And so I hope this article was helpful in looking at the Joules Air+.
