You can find me helping families with tech issues on TV news, podcasts, Instagram, Facebook, and on my website familytechzone.com. So, what is the Trome phone? The phone is actually the Samsung A32, and Trumei offers two different models: the A12 and the A32. I will understand the differences between the two, but Trumy is a safer smartphone for kids. I’ve reviewed two other kid-safe smartphones on this channel, so definitely check out that content. This is specifically about Troomi, which is fairly new to the market, and I just got my hands on it. Let’s explore its features, advantages, disadvantages and everything in between.
Trummy models: A12 vs A32
Trumi has two different phone options: Samsung A12 and Samsung A32. The big difference between the A12 and the A32 is more space and a better camera. If it’s a very small baby that won’t take up a lot of space or take amazing photos, the A12 is a great option. If your child is a bit older and ready for a better smartphone, the A32 is the right choice.
Trume Plans: Which One to Choose?
There are three different plans with Trome:
- $15 monthly plan: Talk and text only. You can limit who can call and text on the phone.
- $20 monthly plan: talk, text, picture messages, and group messages.
- $25 a month plan: access to kid-safe apps and additional features.
Advantages of Tromiphone
- Safe Web Browser: Limited to a safe list of websites that you enter manually.
- Curated Apps: Only highly curated, kid-safe apps are available.
- Easy to find cases: Samsung uses A32 or A12, so cases are widely available on Amazon.
Disadvantages of Truphone
- No text monitoring: Currently, there is no way to monitor messages within the phone. This feature is coming soon.
- Google Family Link: Currently, there is no approved app, which is a barrier to managing Google Calendar for your child.
- Limited App Time Frame: Unlike Pinwheel, Trumy does not allow multiple time limits or time frames for apps.
- Parent Portal: Managing your child’s Trome Phone
Trumi Parent Portal lets you control various settings for your child’s phone:
- GPS Tracking: Shows your child’s exact location.
- Screen Time Limits: Set daily screen time limits and monitor app usage.
- Web Settings: Manage safe list websites and browser access.
- App Control: Toggle access to apps on or off and enable specific kid-safe apps.
- Text Messaging: Allow or restrict text messaging and manage contacts.
- Contact management: Add and manage contacts, including emergency contacts.
