I am going to do a review on this jar vacuum sealer. It’s the latest thing to hit Amazon, and if you’re canning, you should give it a try so I’ll give you my review on it and let you know what I think of it.

Unboxing the VP06

So let’s jump over here and get started. So I received my new um jar vacuum sealer, and this is um what I think is the vpo6 because I ordered two. I ordered the VP05 and VP06 vacuum jar sealers for mason jars, and this is the second one that arrived. So I am very excited to open it and use it. So I just wanted to show you guys. I’m not sure if they’re from the same company, but. These are the instructions.

Unboxing the VP06

Wow it’s white, not black. Well, surprise, surprise. Okay, so this is the VP06 vacuum sealer, the jar vacuum sealer. And I’m going to throw in a little stuff here. And these are the lids that come with it. It’s just like other people. In this one… Let me see about Charlotte, I think it’s about four or three each. I think about it, no, it’s more like it’s five, five each, so that’s nice and it comes with a charging cord. OK, so I’m going to return them. So that’s a bonus.

Comparing VP06 and VP05

Now, the other one I have, and it’s the VP05. This box doesn’t have the name of the machine, it’s white here, but these are the instructions that came out. So you guys can see this is the VP06 Vacuum Jar Sealer for Mason Jars. So I believe it is the same company. I’m going to slide it in here. And then there’s the other one. And it’s basically the same size. As you can see, it is the same size. It looks kind of like that. At the bottom is the charging port and then at the top is the start button. And in the middle is the display. This display is just wider than this display. And the shape is designed differently. So let me see if they both have the same thing as far as the name of this vacuum sealer. Nope what. It doesn’t even have a word in it. Anyway, that’s what I was looking for, this word. It’s not over here. And I twisted it. But it has a lock, if you can see. There is a lock here. I mean, an unlock picture here and a lock picture there. And it’s the same here. So it shows you how to lock it and unlock it.

Comparing VP06 and VP05

Using the VP06

This is for small mouth pots, like eight ounces or something like that. And it’s like small, regular-mouth dishes, it says here. A regular mouth, uh, mason jar, like eight ounces or something. And then for the wide mouth, you twist it. It’s hard to turn. It is difficult to open. Well, it all settles in there so that’s it for the wide mouth.

And this is for smallmouths. And so it is with him here. It’s harder to bend, but it’s basically the same design setup. And when you want to turn it back off, you do the same thing. I’m sorry, I think I did it wrong. Yes, when you want to turn it back on, that’s what you do. You just plug it in and turn it. Oops I think you have to align here. Align the red… the middle part of the lock and then you lock it like this and this is what you line up between the two locks and you press down and you turn it that was easy not right No it’s not easy there yes it’s hard to bend so it’s not that easy.

Testing in the Kitchen

Instead of using their lids, these are the ball lids that come with mason jars, but I’m going to use their lids. So, just wash it, put it on, and make sure it’s securely on. And then you take it and put it right down on top of the jar and push down to push it down, make sure it’s completely closed. Then you want to press here. The instructions say you should vacuum seal it for no longer than 40 seconds. So I’m going to stop it, and I’m going to take it off. Okay fine. Let me show you too. It doesn’t come out, and it’s not coming out. Like, I can’t take it off with me…yeah, so…yeah, it’s tight.

Testing Dry Goods with the Vacuum Sealer

You can also dry goods. I just put some beans here. And that’s just to test it. So I’m going to show you that too. Put the lid on here. And I’ll put it at the top. So you guys can see dry vs liquid. And I’ll put it here. Push it down. So it’s completely seed. And then we’re going to start with it. I’ll go and watch for about 50 seconds. all right. When you’re ready to use it, it’s useless, it’s squeezed out. And when you’re ready to take it off, when it’s finished, when you press the button, the release button, it opens.

Next, we’re going to try the VP06. So we’re going to do the same thing. We’re going to make sure our jar lids are clean and dry. And we’re going to put the vacuum sealer right on top of the lid and push right down. Okay, so now we’re going to try it. And this one here, I’m going to do a little different. I saw online that some people continue to vacuum seal until it closes on its own. So I’m going to see what happens, how long it takes before it actually stops. Some people say two minutes, they actually seal the vacuum until it stops. And like, I don’t know. So the instructions are very, very few. So I don’t really know, uh, you know, what’s the right way? But, for them to say, you should vacuum seal for 20 seconds. I got 49% left, battery life, so I’m going to test it and just let you guys know because you’re going to see a lot of different instructions on this thing, you know.

Observing Vacuum Sealing Duration

And everyone is sealing it at different times. So I really don’t know. I bring it a little closer here so you can see it’s at 88, 88, 89. It stopped. Did you see that guys? It actually stopped. It stopped at 88. So that means it will continue to run until it stops on its own. I’m surprised.

Using the VP05 for String Beans

We’re going to put back some string beans that I have in a pot here. And we’re going to use that, which is VP05. We’re going to… put it up make sure oops watch this make sure these are all bloopers, but these are important bloopers. Okay fine. So you’re going to put it on top and push it down.

Ensuring Proper Vacuum Sealing

Well, now we’re going to start with that. We’ll let it go and let it go until it actually stops. It’s still going at 151 percent at 151 seconds. It’s still going. So it stopped. So this is what I am talking about. It will stop on its own when it is completely sealed. So this, I’m just going to be on the safe side, let it stop on its own. That way, I know it’s completely sealed. So, I’m doing 20 seconds or nothing and figuring out if it’s properly vacuum sealed in my food processor.

Conclusion and Recommendations

So, for you guys who want to buy these, um, vacuum sealers, they’re, it’s a VPO 5, it’s a BPO, oh six, and they’re both, um, very cheap. So, you definitely, you know, it’s great if you decide to store your food or if you want to start canning, so I’m going to try the um vacuum to seal my sofferato. Let’s see how it works a bit.
